I’ve lived in the village since 1995, raising two sons here and becoming part of a community that’s shaped my life for over 30 years. It’s a place I’ve grown deeply attached to — not just through family and friendships, but through the rhythm of village life itself. From local events to quiet walks in familiar landscapes, I’ve always valued the sense of belonging and shared purpose that defines our community. Now retired and in my late 60s, I have the time and energy to give back, and I’m proud to serve as a director of the community trust, helping protect and enhance what makes this village special.

Following a career in social work and health in & around Glasgow, I moved to Aboyne with my husband and our two bengal cats in 2024. Born in Aberdeen, I have been visiting Aboyne since childhood, both to visit family and to enjoy walking holidays. I joined Aboyne Green Spaces as a volunteer, and subsequently became Treasurer. I became a director of Aboyne Community Trust in September 2025, with responsibility for setting up the new community calendar. I believe whole-heartedly in the value of community, and love participating in yoga, fitness classes and events in the village. I also enjoy learning new skills and travelling to visit family across Scotland and around the world.

Retired in 2018 after working in the oil industry for over 40 years in various operational roles, the last 15 years of which were with Lloyds Register Energy Drilling as Senior Vice President, Europe & Africa and a member of the Global Leadership team for Energy Drilling. Moved to Aboyne in 2021 to be closer to my 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren, and where I now live with my cockapoo Milo, enjoying long walks and gardening.
